Bernie Ward is to be sentenced on August 28, 2008 by Judge Walker. The United States in their Sentencing Memo are seeking a 9 year imprisonment term. Bernie Ward is hoping for 5 years. Actually he’s probably hoping he got away with it, but if you read the DOJ Sentencing Memo and Ward’s Sentencing Memo you’ll see the facts underlying each sides position.
Worthy of note is the Letter the DOJ wrote to Judge Walker requesting that the Court actually look at the images that were on Bernie’s computers before he issues the sentence. Apparently the DOJ feels these images are so bad that they warrant the 9 year sentence. Stay tuned to Thursday, August 28, 2009 for the decision. You can read more from SFGate here.

Considering what Bernie got;Bush,Cheney and their necon war profiteering global terrorists crime cartel;should get a billion years in prison for murdering over 3 million innocent people in the middle east!

in this time of disappearing resources, maybe it;s time to reevaluate non-violent crimes as keeping Bernie ward in jail is costing the state of california money they need to spend on medicare and medicaid. the state is bankrupt. time to bring home those prisioners who are low to reoffend and no danger to society now.

Bernie is in Federal Prison, so it’s Federal resources not broken California’s. Secondly, I truly hope you don’t believe that receiving and transmitting child pornagraphy is a crime with no danger to society. Each child in those images is brutally victimized and with people like Bernie Ward getting their jollies off it, sharing it with others, keeps the whole cycle going. He would likely reoffend. He even claimed to have “sucked off” his son. He for one should stay in custody for a very very long time.

Bernie Ward should really be sentenced to the maximum extent possible. While the prosecution’s recommendation has merit, they’re sort of cutting him a break. Why not the maximum 20 years? 9 years is far better than 5.
Moron Weinberg exhibits what I’ve always seen in defense attorneys. First of all, there IS EVIDENCE that he has victimized his own children. Are his eyes so bad that he cannot read the chat log? Ok I was joking there. I always wonder if these defense lawyers always believe their words.
Can Moron honestly stand behind this man and uphold him as an example of great societal contribution?
Would Moron hire this guy after leaving prison (clerical work, etc)?
If Doron has children, grandchildren, nieces does he consider for 1 second that he is advocating a man who just as well could’ve jacked off to gut wrenching depictions of his?
Also El Moron is obviously grasping at straws. There is not a snowballs chance in hell that the defense’s memorandum could possibly outweigh the government’s.
You want to research child porn? Hit the library and read the books. Need more modern research? Try Philip Jenkin’s “Beyond Tolerance: child pornography on the internet”. Not modern enough? Well tough, cause the Pete Townshend defense is used by everyone and carries no weight.

What evidence? Has any of you seen the so-called “evidence”? Bernie pissed off the f…… catholic church and they set him up. The pope should be in jail for life sentence.

Bernie’s admissions should seem to be adequate enough, don’t ya think? If it walks like duck, smells like a duck, looks like a duck, its a DUCK. Don’t try to manipulate it into saying its some repressed penguin stuck inside the gender defying confused aquatic, aerial animal. It’s a FREAKING DUCK.
