I have always been a supporter of the death penalty because I thought it was a great deterrent. Until this month when in Yolo County a sheriff deputy was killed in the line of duty. This was one week after another person was just sentenced to death in the same county for killing a CHP officer. It just showed me, people who kill cops or deserve the death penalty are not in their right mind, whether by drugs or other means. So deterrent is no longer a point in my book. It is a waste of money and time. Just let them rot in prison.

I know its a little off-base, but when we're facing quote unquote Budget Cut-backs, let's look at how we truly spend the money. Take San Francisco for example. They have their "sanctuary city" LAME STATUS, unless they're prepared to NOT be part of California and the United States of America you can't just create an establishment for a small social purpose. Look at what's going on, they hide criminal illegal immigrants, and spend over $35K at the tax payers expense only to have them run away. Great use of the funds. Too many people lose their jobs for the lame management practices. Thanks for your comment.

CA's death penalty already costs more than we can afford, and the only way to fix it is to nearly double what we're already paying. Meanwhile, more than 1/2 of homicides go unsolved, and we're not doing enough to provide services to victims. We can spend our money in a much more effective way than on the death penalty.
