No not tryst as in Elliot Spitzer, but Twist in his case. Supervisor Former Supervisor Ed Jew is being prosecuted by the U.S. for corruption, bribes, etc. This is the guy who was “allegedly” caught on wiretap to have extorted money from some local businesses in his district. Then he also is alleged to have not even resided in his District, but actually in another county altogether. The City of San Francisco made it’s case to the California Attorney General who in turn gave SF permission to seek to remove Jew from office. Jew ultimately settled his civil and criminal cases with the City and County of San Francisco. What looms ahead is the actual underlying Federal Case that triggered the whole fiasco.
Ed Jew was represented by Steve Gruel and now Stuart Hanlon. I laugh because Stuart Hanlon is the same attorney who represented Kathleen Culhane, the fake unlicensed investigator who perjured herself time and time again, filing fake declarations on behalf of people. Hanlon’s response when representing Culhane was that she was a victim, etc. RIGHT… Culhane is now doing 5 years. I hope Jew realizes the quality of counsel and that when Hanlon claims the Government played FOUL it equates to most of us that the Government is probably right and Hanlon is wrong. Hanlon has a motion alleging that Ed Jew did not receive fair counsel from Steve Gruel. When confronted with the admonishment and facts from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, he concedes but leaves the motion on calendar. I wonder if he’ll get sanctioned. The hearing is today.
