tombstoneJayci Yaeger is the 10 year old girl dying of brain cancer that I previously blogged about. The ONE person who can grant her dying wish is Warden J.D. Whitehead (Jimmy Doyle Whitehead). I know he’s married to Barbara Lona Whitehead, but I don’t know if they have children, which is why it may be easy for him to make such a callous decision. I’m confused as to why he would serve his local chapter of the United Way. According to United Way & Volunteer Services of Greater Yankton’s IRS Form 990 Jim Whitehead is an unpaid board member. This gives credence to him having a heart. The South Dakota’s Secretary of State hosts the organizations non-profit annual reports. For 2006 Jim Whitehead is listed as a board member and his address is listed as:

1201 Douglas, Yankton, SD 57078

Maybe a rally of supporters could meet on the public sidewalk in front of this address and show support for Jayci? Peer-pressure worked on many in the past.

Jimmy’s past includes being an electrical contractor in Florida. He was President of Panhandle Electrical Contractors, Inc. Barbara was also involved in the business. His previous duties were at FCI Florence, Colorado. FCI Florence is part of the Florence Federal Correctional Complex. How does an electrical contractor go to becoming the Warden?

There is an important news article that talks about the family’s request for possibly donations for Jayci’s eminent funeral arrangements. I would pray that everyone consider giving something. At least we can help her burial if Jimmy won’t help her see her dad one last time.

The Yaegers have been asked if there is a way for the public to help the family with the assistance of Jayci’s funeral, which we know will be soon in the future. The family has set up a place where people can send donations:

Jayci Yaeger Benefit Fund
Care of Guardians Incorp.
1707 South 17th St. Suite 1D
Lincoln, Neb. 68502

Please help show your support by sending this post to your friends, family, co-workers, Senators, clergy and anybody else that you can think of. Maybe MERCY and COMPASSION will prevail. Background on Jayci’s story | Her Petition | Touching Video.
