A sad, yet historic day for the citizens of Detroit. Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick pleaded Guilty to two felonies in one of the scandals that rocked the City of Detroit. Sure to do jail time the disgraced jigalo mayor will lose his law license, pension, pay $1,000,000 in restitution and tender his resignation. The problem I have with the small penalty is that it costs the citizens tens of millions of dollars to try to get this corrupt jigalo mayor out of office. He fought the entire time, disregarded the law (one he has a license to practice) and didn’t care about anything but himself. His signed Admission of Facts acknowledges that he lied under oath.
Political figures NEED TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. Some people in some small towns like Lathrop, California would cry that whatever the mayor does in his personal life is not relevant. I disagree completely. Look at how much money was spent in the prosecution and defense of Kwame Kilpatrick. Does it seem right or fair?

He pled guilty, not pleaded guilty.

Sorry, Richard Lederer (“the Word Man” on KSFO) says that pleaded is preferred.

@Iris Beilan: No apology needed. I misuse that term frequently.
