Continue your calls, letters, emails so Jason can attend Jayci’s Funeral
I just learned that Jayci Yaeger’s battle against cancer is over. She died either last night or early this morning sometime just before 2:00a.m. this morning. I have not received word from her family yet. I want to thank all those of you who helped get Jayci’s dying wish granted. 20 minutes was not much time, but she fought hard to wait for her daddy. I’m at a loss for words right now, so please if you have kids, take an extra minute today to hug and kiss them, let them know you love them, because you don’t know if they’ll be here tomorrow. Jayci’s Battle
Warden Whitehead demonstrated some MERCY and COMPASSION today. Jason Yaeger had a brief visit with Jayci Yaeger at her hospice bedside. Jason was under federal escort and his time was limited. I for one want to say,
“THANK YOU”
to Warden J.D. Whitehead. I believe you made the right choice. Thank you again. Nebraska news article with more details.
Jayci Yaeger is the 10 year old girl dying of brain cancer that I previously blogged about. The ONE person who can grant her dying wish is Warden J.D. Whitehead (Jimmy Doyle Whitehead). I know he’s married to Barbara Lona Whitehead, but I don’t know if they have children, which is why it may be easy for him to make such a callous decision. I’m confused as to why he would serve his local chapter of the United Way. According to United Way & Volunteer Services of Greater Yankton’s IRS Form 990 Jim Whitehead is an unpaid board member. This gives credence to him having a heart. The South Dakota’s Secretary of State hosts the organizations non-profit annual reports. For 2006 Jim Whitehead is listed as a board member and his address is listed as:
For what it’s worth, please consider viewing the petition and if you agree, please sign it. Let’s remind those in power that we put them there and that the government is WE THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE. Jayci Yaeger Petition. Thanks.
Would you please help me get the word out about this before it’s too late? I really really feel strongly about this situation since I too am a Dad and love my children.
Jayci Yaeger is a 10 year old little girl dying from brain cancer. Her WISH: Have dad bedside as she leaves this life. PROBLEM: Jason Yaeger is a federal inmate housed at Yankton Federal Prison Camp. The Warden can approve a furlough for Jason to be with his daughter as she succumbs, but has refused according to news reports. Jason Yaeger was convicted of methamphetamine charges nearly five years ago and is scheduled to be released next year. Yes, NEXT YEAR. He’s scheduled to move to a half-way house in August 2008, but Jayci’s doctors fear it will be too late.
